After 6 years in this industry I can’t imagine doing anything else.  One of the best perks of my job is when a client tells me that I make them look as good as they feel.

I started my career in my home town of Spring Lake.  After three years I came to the Walker area where I was given the opportunity to expand my clientele.  Two years later I was offered a chance to buy the salon that I was working at.Teezers Hair Salon just celebrated its one year anniversary.  As the owner I am very proud of my salon and of the girls that work with me.

Being licensed since 2005 I have had time to come into my own as a stylist and I have been given the
opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives through the use of my creativity. Ongoing training in
the most current trends and techniques with some of the most knowledgeable industry professionals
has helped me to gain the confidence and communication skills that are needed to create the styles that
my clients love.

Marie

My name is Marie and I’m the owner of Jennings Massage LLC at Teezers Hair Salon. While working with severely handicapped students at Lincoln School, it dawned on me that my back and I weren’t getting any younger and I needed a career change.   So I enrolled in the 1200 hour program at Blue Heron Academy.  I graduated from Blue Heron in 2006 with my certification in manual massage therapy and passed a national board test.  I’ve been a member of the American Medical Massage Association since 2006 and I take 18 hours of continuing education each year to stay in good standing with the AMMA.

I worked at a chiropractor’s office part time for 3 years. In Feb. of 2010 I joined the staff, part time, at Teezers Hair Salon.  In August of 2010 I retired (yeah) from Grand Rapids Public Schools after 31 years of service and started full time at Teezers.  I enjoy being at Teezers and I really enjoy working with my clients.

Doing hair has always been a passion of mine ever since I was a little girl. I have been licensed since 2005. I took some time off to be in the military. Due to an injury I was forced to leave the Navy early. I started at Teezers as a client and loved it! So I decided to join their team of stylists and get back into what I love doing.
